Students at Waltham Forest College are celebrating outstanding Level 3 results, with learners securing places at leading universities, higher and degree apprenticeships, and exciting careers with major employers.
T Levels and BTEC Nationals combine academic knowledge, technical expertise, practical experience and employer engagement, providing students with a strong platform to progress into higher education, apprenticeships and skilled employment.
This year’s results reflect the ambition and determination of students and the dedication of staff, with learners achieving grades from Distinction* to Pass across BTEC and T Level programmes.
Students are progressing to leading universities including King’s College London, University College London, Queen Mary University of London, the University of Exeter, the University of Nottingham and the University of Sheffield, while others are moving directly into higher apprenticeships and skilled employment.
The results reinforce Waltham Forest College’s position as London’s highest-performing college for 16–18-year-old achievement, highlighting its commitment to high-quality technical and vocational education and ambitious destinations for students.
Turning ambition into achievement
Adam Islam achieved a Distinction* in Level 3 Uniformed Public Services and will study Law at the University of Nottingham. During his time at the College, Adam served as a Student Governor and took part in a two-week international work experience programme in Thailand.
Adam said: “My time at Waltham Forest College has given me so much more than a qualification. I’ve had incredible opportunities that have helped me grow in confidence and ambition. I’m now excited to begin studying Law at the University of Nottingham and take the next step towards my future. I know there is a long journey ahead, but I’m ready for the challenge and determined to make the most of every opportunity.”
David Kagoya achieved a Distinction in T Level Building Services Engineering, specialising in Electrical, and has secured a degree apprenticeship with Kier Group.
David said: “Choosing a T Level has been one of the best decisions I’ve made. The combination of practical learning, theory and industry experience gave me the skills and confidence to take my first steps into the sector. My work placement was particularly valuable and helped me build professional relationships that ultimately led to my Degree Apprenticeship with Kier Group. I’m excited about what the future holds and ready to continue learning and developing.”
Fiyori Hailay completed her Level 3 Access to Nursing and Midwifery course and will progress to King’s College London to study Nursing with Registration as an Adult Nurse.
Fiyori said: “I’m incredibly excited and grateful to be progressing to King’s College London. My time at Waltham Forest College has given me the knowledge, confidence and encouragement to believe in what I can achieve. The support from my teachers and the wider College community made me feel valued and motivated throughout my journey. I’m very thankful to everyone who supported me and believed in my potential, and I’m looking forward to beginning the next chapter of my journey towards a career in healthcare.”
Harry Elia achieved a Distinction in T Level Digital Production, Design and Development and will progress to the University of Sheffield to study Mechatronic and Robotic Engineering.
Harry said: “My time at Waltham Forest College has given me the skills and confidence to pursue something I’m genuinely passionate about. I originally planned to build a career in IT, but my brother inspired me to explore robotics, and I quickly realised it was the direction I wanted to take. I particularly enjoyed the practical coding elements of my T Level, which have given me valuable skills for my future career. I’m incredibly grateful to my teachers for their support and encouragement, and I’m excited to take the next step at the University of Sheffield and work towards a career in robotics.”
